Present evidence suggests that hemodiafiltration offers a better clinical outcome as compared to standard hemodialysis especially when delivered in high volume. In this presentation, I will discuss possible mechanism(s) of such a beneficial effect and I will briefly summarize what new data can be expected in the near future.
