This course will provide an overview of the respiratory system and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), discuss the rational for ECCO₂R in acute exacerbation of COPD, explore the determinants for extracorporeal CO₂ removal, devices and considerations for ECCO₂R use, and evidence for this therapy in COPD.
