In this webinar environmental issues and measures of chronic hemodialysis therapy will be addressed. Hemodialysis saves lives but consumes large amounts of water and power and produces a lot of care-related waste. It must be a goal for the nephrology community to implement measures to save water for the HD therapy. Beyond its superiority on patient survival, hemodiafiltration must be also considered as a possibility to spare dialysate and water consumption without jeopardizing the dialysis dose delivery.
